FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

CAN I BE CONFIDENT THAT MY ITEMS ARE SAFE?

Yes. And here’s why:

  • We have 18 security cameras running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • There are managers on site at all times.
  • There is no 24 hour access.
  • Our front gate is locked after hours.
  • The doors to the upstairs are also locked when we are closed.

SHOULD I WORRY ABOUT BUGS OR RODENTS?

In addition to regular pest control, we do NOT allow any food to be stored.

 

HOW DO I RENT A LOCKER?

Call us, or walk in and speak to one of our friendly staff members. Once you have determined the size you need, we will ask you to fill out an information sheet. We will then perform an inspection of the locker and you will sign a one-month lease, to start.

DOES PARKWAY STORAGE PROVIDE THE LOCK?

No. You must provide your own lock to ensure that only you have access to the locker.

DO YOU HAVE A “DUMPING” AREA AVAILABLE?

We have small garbage containers for small items, but we do not have access for large items. You are responsible for removing larger items such as furniture.

DO YOU HAVE ELEVATORS FOR THE SECOND FLOOR?

Yes. Each of our two-storey buildings has a freight elevator for your use.

ARE YOUR LOCKERS CLIMATE-CONTROLLED?

Yes. In the winter, our heated lockers are maintained at 15ºC.

DO YOU HAVE OUTSIDE STORAGE?

No. Everything must be stored indoors.

WHAT CAN I STORE?

You can store almost anything that will fit. Furniture, cars, boats, etc. When storing a vehicle of any kind, place a tarp or something on the floor to ensure no fluids seep in.

WHAT CAN I NOT STORE?

You may NOT store any type of food, or flammable materials (gasoline, paint, propane tanks, etc.) Ask our friendly staff if you are unsure about storing a particular item in your locker.

HOW MUCH NOTICE MUST I PROVIDE BEFORE A MOVE OUT?

When moving out, we need written notice from you 15-days in advance. This will allow us to notify new customers that the space will be available

DO YOU CHARGE A DEPOSIT OR ADMINISTRATION FEE?

There is no administration fee. We require only a one-time damage deposit of $50 (per locker) to be paid at the beginning of your lease. You will receive your deposit back in the mail approximately 2- or 3-weeks after vacating, provided you left your locker(s) in the same condition that you received it in.

DO YOU PROVIDE MOVERS OR MOVING SUPPLIES?

No. You are responsible for moving and securing all items.

WHEN IS RENT DUE?

The rent at Parkway Storage is charged monthly, due on the first day of every month. (Some other self-storage companies charge on a 4-week cycle.)

HOW MAY I PAY?

You may choose to pay by:

  • Cheque
  • Interac debit
  • Certified Cheque
  • Money Order/Draft
  • Visa, MasterCard, Amex (signatures must be witnessed at the first of every month)
  • Preauthorized payment from your Chequing account
  • Personal Cheque or Post-dated Cheques
